Slowly but surely, Jeron Teng is on his way to recovery.
More than three weeks after getting into a stabbing incident in Bonifacio Global City, the Alaska rookie is back with the team and although he still can’t participate in basketball drills he’s doing what he can to get back to playing shape.
Teng said he goes to the Aces’ practice at Gatorade Hoops Center when he gets the chance to show his support for his team, which currently sits with a 7-3 record at the second place in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup.
“I feel better, I’m recovering well and now I come here to practice but of course I still can’t practice with the team but I go here to show my support for them,” said Teng in Filipino.
“Once in a while I come here, and just watch them at practice.”
Teng had surgery a day after the incident and needed a month to go through his first phase of recovery before returning to the hospital for reassessment.
“Actually my stab wounds are still restricted and I’m not that mobile yet,” said Teng. “I’m just following the doctors’ orders.”
“I’m just focusing on my recovery and at the same time show support to my teammates, be there even though I’m not practicing but just being there for support.”
