Sta. Lucia got into stable ground with a four-set win over Cocolife, 25-23, 25-22, 22-25, 25-19, in the Philippine Superliga Invitational Conference Thursday at Strike Gym in Bacoor.
The Lady Realtors got their first win and tied the and Asset Managers at 1-1 in Group B, half-a-game behind leader and defending champion Cignal, which is undefeated so far at 2-0.
MJ Phillips was stellar for the Lady Realtors, putting up a game-high 22 points while Jeanette Villareal chipped in 10 points.
Although his team got the victory, Sta. Lucia head coach George Pascua wasn’t fully satisfied with how his team awarded Cocolife 37 free points due to errors.
“We had so many unforced errors, which should never happen,” said Pascua in Filipino. “I want to see some maturity from my players and I don’t see this kind of inconsistency when we’re in practice.”
“I want to see some consistency when they play.”
Gyra Barroga had 14 points to lead the Asset Managers while Alexandra Tan and Justine Tiu had 13 points apiece.
