Tang: Blazers near top form ahead of NCAA season
Regardless of what happens in their 2018 Filoil Flying V Preseason Cup campaign, College of St. Benilde head coach TY Tang is already looking forward to their upcoming NCAA season.
Tang credited his players after going deep in the tournament before succumbing to defending champion San Beda, 78-71, in the semifinals.
Article continues after this advertisement“I’d say we are almost there. A few things that we have to polish more and I think we’ll be good this coming NCAA season,” Tang said.
Tang said they’re getting ready for Season 94 regardless of the result of their bronze medal match against Far Eastern University on Saturday.
Under the steady guidance of Tang, St. Benidle turned heads in the preseason after coming out on top of the elimination round of the tournament.
Article continues after this advertisement“Definitely, the right mix of players is very important. As you can see, it is very hard, especially for our school right now, to choose players.”
“What we’re doing is basically trying to find someone [in the team] who has that difference in them and hopefully we can convert that into a right mix for us,” Tang said.
