FEU finishes 3rd in Filoil, routs College of St. Benilde
Far Eastern University claimed the bronze medal after a dominant victory over College of St. Benilde in the Filoil Preseason Cup Saturday at Filoil Flying V Centre in San Juan.
After finishing the first quarter down, 17-13, the Tamaraws broke away in the second and outscored the Blazers, 19-7, to build a 32-24 buffer heading in to the break.
Article continues after this advertisementThe Tamaraws then, continued the charge up until the start of the fourth quarter to extend their lead to 21, 61-40, that put the game away.
“We wanted exposure for everyone and this was the opportunity for them to get that kind of exposure so we used all of them,” said FEU head coach Olsen Racela.
Ken Tuffin and Joseph Nunag had nine points apiece to lead the Tamaraws, who all had all their players log at least 10 minutes.

Kendrix Belgica and Rob Nayve gad 12 points each for the Blazers, who sat out big man Justin Gutang in the duel.
