Jungolf varsity tilt up Monday
Top qualifiers from the two elimination legs clash for bragging rights in the grand finals of the ICTSI Jungolf Interschool golf tournament Monday and Tuesday at the Orchard Golf and Country Club in Dasmariñas, Cavite.
Division winners La Salle Green Hills 1 (Juniors), Xavier 4 (Midgets1), Ateneo 2 (Midgets 2), La Salle Zobel (Girls 2) and St. Paul’s Pasig (Girls 1) lead the cast of 20 schools in the 36-hole culmination of the school season vying for team and individual awards.
Clinching slots in the finals are Ateneo and La Salle Green Hills with five teams each, La Salle Zobel and Xavier with three apiece, Assumption with two teams and St. Paul’s Pasig and Colegio San Agustion with one each.
The International Container Terminal Services, Inc. is the main sponsor of JGFP tournaments with the backing of Philippine Airlines, Chevrolet, Pancake House, Teriyaki Boy and Sizzlin’ Pepper.
Unlike in the eliminations where results were carried over from the first leg to the next, all teams will start from scratch in the finals.
The top qualifiers are Marvi Monsalve of St. Paul’s in Girls 1, Pauline del Rosario of La Salle Zobel in Girls 2, JP de Claro of LSGH in Juniors, Kristoffer Arevalo of Colegio San Agustin in Midgets 1 and Aidric Chan of Ateneo 2 in Midgets 2.
