The Universal Reality Combat Championship and Colt 45 head south as they hold their first tournament of the year on Jan. 13 at the Cebu International Convention Center in Cebu City.
The return of the most decorated and perhaps the most feared local mixed martial arts (MMA) practitioner in Eduard “The Landslide” Folayang will highlight the 10-fight event dubbed as Colt45 URCC Cebu 7: Domination.
“We want to the start the year right, so we are bringing Eduard back to the MMA scene,” said URCC president Alvin Aguilar. “It’s going to be one big event in Cebu because the sport is fast gaining popularity in the South.”
Folayang is coming off a successful SEA Games campaign in Indonesia where he retained his title, a feat that reinforced his status as the country’s most successful wushu and MMA artist of his generation.
Already a three-time SEA Games gold champion, the 28-year-old Folayang is gunning for his sixth straight URCC win when he battles Brazilian Wadson “Knockout” Teixeira in the Superfight of the event also backed by Chris Sports with Solar Entertainment as the event’s media partner.
