KUALA LUMPUR — In opposite corners inside the boxing ring, Manny Pacquiao and Lucas Matthysse are on the same side when it comes to football.

Chiming in on the 2018 World Cup, Pacquiao said his team has always been Argentina, where his July 15 opponent Matthysse is from.

“My team is already out. My team is Argentina. That’s my team since before,” said Pacquiao.

Argentina didn’t last long in the tournament after it got booted out by France, 4-3, in the Round of 16.

And with Lionel Messi and company out of the picture, the two now have different bets.

“I think France will win,” Matthysse said through an interpreter.

“I think, I go with Croatia. I think France and Croatia will fight for the championship,” said Pacquiao.

France is just a victory away from winning it all after nipping Belgium, 1-0, in the semifinal on Tuesday while Croatia and England dispute the other ticket to the final early Thursday morning.
