Creamline clinched the 2018 Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference championship with a sweep after walloping PayMaya, 25-19, 25-20, 25-11, in Game 2 Wednesday at Mall of Asia Arena.
The Cool Smashers sucked the life out of the High Flyers in the third set after unloading a 15-6 bomb to bag the title.
“We’re really hungry for this championship and this will motivate us to achieve more in the next conferences,” Creamline captain Alyssa Valdez told reporters.
The Cool Smashers, who needed four sets to win in the series opener, were in the control the entire game, this time.
They ended the second set on a 5-1 sprint capped by Kuttika Kaewpin’s crosscourt kill while a quick 3-1 burst by highlighted by an Alyssa Valdez down the line hit sealed the first frame, 25-19.
Creamline capitalized in the block department with 12 points while the High Flyers only had a couple.
Valdez led the Cool Smashers with 19 points while Michelle Gumabao and Kaewpin had 12 apiece.
PayMaya import Tess Rountree delivered 12 markers.
