Charcos embraces starting role for Perpetual

Perpetual Help starting shooting guard Edgar Charcos stepped up big in his first NCAA victory after transferring from the University of the East.

Charcos delivered 27 points on a nine-of-12 shooting clip, 22 of it coming in the first half in their 78-75 win against Letran at Filoil Flying V Centre Friday.

“Being trusted as the starting guard, I challenged myself to perform well for my new school,” Charcos said in Filipino.

Altas head coach Frankie Lim said he expected that impressive display from his starting guard.

The former Red Warrior said Lim is hands on with the team and motivates them a lot.

Charcos found a familiar face on the opposing side with Bonbon Batiller, his former teammate in UE, suiting up for the Knights.

“Playing against Bonbon was a challenge for me as he knows my style of play,” he said. Justin Robert Valencia, Ma. Angelica D. Garcia, Ivan Ruiz L. Suing
