Elorde grandson KOs Thai foe in Pacquiao-Matthysse undercard
KUALA LUMPUR — Juan Miguel Elorde got things going for the Filipinos with an impressive win in the curtain raiser of The Fight of Champions card Sunday morning at Axiata Arena here.
The grandson of the great Gabriel “Flash” Elorde needed only three rounds to dispose of Thailand’s Ratchanon Sawangsoda in their junior featherweight bout.
Elorde floored Sawangsoda thrice in the third round.

After the Sawangsoda mustered enough strength to get back on his feet after the second knockdown, Elorde went for the finish and a crushing right did the trick, prompting the referee to stop the fight at the 2:58 mark.
The 31-year-old Elorde improved to 26-1 with 14 knockouts while Sawangsoda, who has 12 wins, absorbed his third loss.
