Princess Superal and Pauline del Rosario spearhead the local challenge starting Wednesday when the $75,000 ICTSI Champion Tour tees off with the first of its two legs at the Legends Course of Manila Southwoods in Carmona, Cavite.
Regarded as the best local hope for the Philippines to again put a mainstay in the US LPGA, Superal will be playing over a course she knows like the back of her hand and is listed as one of the favorites along with several Thai standouts.
Despite heavy rains, the Legends remains to be in good championship shape as the field tried out the Jack Nicklaus-created gem South of Manila on Tuesday.
“The course is in great shape even with this kind of weather,” said Saruttaya Ngam-usawn of Thailand, another fancied participant in the 54-hole championship that will award $15,000 to the champion.
