The Philippines’ under-12 baseball team nearly won it all in the Cal Ripken Blue Crab tournament in Aberdeen, Maryland, USA.

The young Filipinos, most of whom hail from Batangas, finished the week-long tournament as the second-best team out of 24, edging American and Canadian squads.

The Pioneers dominated their first five games before running into the Eagles in a game that could’ve gone either way.

Before their duel with the Eagles, the Pioneers beat the New England Rebels, 6-2, and the Flemington Red Devils, 10-5, in back-to-back fashion.
