Jones Cup: Ateneo chalks up 2nd straight win at expense of Indonesia
Ateneo started to build some momentum after brushing off Indonesia, 89-78, for its second straight win in the 2018 William Jones Cup Thursday at Xinzhuang Gymnasium in Taiwan.
After trailing 44-41 at the end of the first half, the Blue Eagles came alive and outscored the Indonesians 35-18 to take a 76-62 lead heading into the fourth.
Isaac Go spearheaded Ateneo’s attack with 21 points, 11 in the third quarter alone, with four rebounds and two steals.
Article continues after this advertisementThirdy Ravena was a stat sheet stuffer finishing with 14 points, eight rebounds, and five assists while Angelo Kouame and Patrick Maagdenberg also had 14 points apiece.
Ateneo improved to a 4-2 record while Indonesia dropped to 1-5.
Ricardo White had 23 points and nine rebounds to lead the Indonesians while Kaleb Gemilang had 18 points.
