Seoul stuns Etland, reaches Super 8 finals
MACAU—Seoul Samsung pulled out all the stops and shocked Etland, 84-74, to barge into the finals of the Asia League Super 8 Saturday at Macau East Asian Games Dome.
The Thunders were down 40-37 at the end of the first half but turned up in the third quarter with an electrifying 29-13 period to build a 66-53 lead heading into the fourth.
Lee Gwan Hee had 20 points, seven rebounds, and five assists to power the Thunders who will face either NLEX or Guangzhou in the title round.
Seoul pounced on every opportunity to attack and outran the flatfooted Elephants to the tune of 14 points off turnovers.
Jang Min Gook lit up from outside with 18 points, on 4-of-6 shooting from deep, while Jung Jun Soo had 14 points to add to Seoul’s cause.
Kim Sang Kyu had 21 points and 10 rebounds to lead Etland while Hong Gyeong Ki added 15 points and five assists.
