Eala, Talatayod set crown duel

Top junior players Miko Eala and Aljon Talatayod showcase their contrasting styles when they dispute the CPSP-Philta International Junior Tennis Championships Sunday at Philippine Columbian Association shell/clay courts.

Top seed Eala, a member of the Davis Cup team, drubbed Jose Maria Pague, 6-1, 6-1, while Talatayod squeezed a 6-7 (3), 6-1, 6-4 triumph over Marcus del Rosario in the semifinals Saturday.

Eala and Talatayod employ contrasting brands of play, making it an intriguing final duel, according to tournament director and national coach Chris Cuarto.

Eala, 15, is ranked 431st in the world and has more international experience played several tournaments abroad.

On the other hand, Talatayod is an unranked  juniors who uses his athleticism and cunning in leading Arellano University to the NCAA title.
