Big 3rd quarter run propels Batangas past winless AMA
Batangas-EAC mounted a comeback late in the third quarter to beat hard-luck AMA Online Education, 91-78, in the PBA D-League Foundation Cup at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.
The also-ran Generals ended their conference with a 4-6 slate while keeping the Titans winless in 10 games.
Article continues after this advertisementDown by 10 in the last minute of the third quarter, the Generals went on a blistering 21-0 run bridging the third and fourth quarter and never looked backed as they ended their campaign on a high note.
“I actually didn’t use my coaching board [during the run]. They showed their effort today in this game,” Batangas head coach Oliver Bunyi said in Filipino.
The Generals were able to score 31 points off AMA’s 30 turnovers and chalked up 17 fastbreak points.

Earvin Mendoza racked up 24 points for the Generals while Cedric de Joya poured in 18 markers.
AMA Online’s Donmark Matillano flirted with a double-double with 19 points and eight rebounds.
