TAGAYTAY—Thai Pannapa Polnamin fired an eagle-spiked eight-under-par 64 to take a three-shot lead over Chinese Taipei’s Huang Ching and Pan Yen-Ling after the first round of the rain-hit ICTSI Champion Tour at Tagaytay Midlands here.
Coming off a last place finish in the Southwoods stop last week, Polnamin showcased a tremendous turnaround in form as she turned in a 32-32 effort capped by an eagle on the tough 18th hole.
Top local hope Princess Superal carved out a 68 spiced by an ace and joined six Thais trailing Polnamin by four shots.
Among those tied with Superal was Ploychompoo Wirairungreung, the winner at Southwoods.
Superal, second place at Southwoods, was the only Filipino in the Top 20 with Pauline Del Rosario shooting a level 72 like amateur sensation Annika Cedo.
