HEMET, CALIFORNIA—Defending Champion Team Manila–Philippines blanked Moreno Valley, 16–0, on Thursday going into the final day of group competitions in the 2018 Pony World Series Girls’ 18-Under softball championships at Diamond Valley Park here.
Pitcher Glory Alonzo, a 17-year old from Negros Occidental, delivered another stellar performance with three no-run innings and a homerun.
The frontrunning Manila softbelles, led by coach Ana Santiago, will next take on San Jacinto Mayhem to determine the group top seed for the crossover semifinals.
In the other game, top hurler Alma Tauli was in her usual form as she led Team Philippines Manila to a 10–0 shutout of San Bernardino.
