Barangay Ginebra head coach Tim Cone thinks the chippy end to Game 2 is just a preview of what’s to come for the remainder of the PBA Commissioner’s Cup Finals.
“It certainly got chippy and i think you’re gonna see that for the rest of the series,” Cone told reporters after the Gin Kings suffered a 134-109 beating to the San Miguel Beermen on Sunday night.

“We’re sister teams but we’re not friendly. There’s no love lost between the two teams.”
With the game already decided under six minutes left, Beermen forward Arwind Santos got tossed after he elbowed Kings guard Scottie Thompson in the midsection.
Then, 15 seconds later, San Miguel guard Chris Ross and Ginebra forward Joe Devance got tangled up before getting into a heated verbal exchange. Ross was ejected.
“I think you’ll continue to see it be chippy. I don’t think it’s gonna be laid down for the other team, it’s come out hard. I expect it to be chippier,” Cone said.
In a title series deemed to be a closely-contested duel, each team has managed to get one lopsided win over the other after a couple of games.
Cone, however, sees Game 3 turning out differently.
“Basically, the soundbites you’re gonna get are gonna be the same that coach Leo was talking to you afterwards. I think he used the word humiliating, I felt the same way today,” Cone said.
“We got one blow out, they got one blow out so we’ll see what happens in Game 3. Usually, that means it’s gonna be a nice, tough game in Game 3 so both teams we’ll be coming out ready to go.”
