HEMET, CALIFORNIA—Defending champion Team Manila–Philippines outclassed Moreno Valley California anew, 12–0, over the weekend in the final day of group competition of the 2018 Pony Softball World Series 18-Under championships at the packed Diamond Valley Park here.
Top pitcher Alma Tauli delivered another stellar performance to lead Team Manila to a semifinals berth for the second straight year.
“If we keep our composure, limit our errors, we will surely have a big chance to reach the finals and maybe win back-to-back,” said Team Manila softball president Rafael Borromeo.
On Sunday (Monday, PH time), the Manila Softbelles, unbeaten in Group C, will battle the Riverside County Laces, which outlasted the Coachella Valley Chaos.
The other semifinals duel will be between West Zone Champion Central Hemet Xplosion and the San Bernardino Blake.
The championship match will also be played Sunday.
