New bike route awaits Cebu 70.3 field

A new three-loop race at the Mactan-Mandaue bridge gives the bike stage of the Ironman 70.3 Philippines Asia Pacific Championship a different look on Sunday.

Organizing Sunrise Events, Inc. decided to use the new route for the 1.9-kilometer swim-90km bike-21.2km run event so as not to affect commuters who also have to put up with other road works.

“The new bike stage adds thrill to the event because it has been changed to three loops from the usual M-loop,” said SEI’s Princess Galura.
