Barangay Ginebra coach Tim Cone didn’t have to look far to find reasons to fear the San Miguel Beermen even after the Gin Kings blew them out in Game 4 of the PBA Commissioner’s Cup Finals.
All Cone had to do was to look back at Games 2 and 3 to know what to expect from the Beermen two nights from now.
“I guess the last thing to say is this doesn’t very secure us for Game 5,” Cone told reporters after Ginebra whipped San Miguel, 130-100, on Friday night.

“We don’t know what’s gonna happen in Game 5 but you’d think because you won big now you feel good going into Game 5,” he said. “All it does is just scare me even more because we’ve seen their fight coming out of the last time we did this so we’ll see.”
Ginebra beat San Miguel, 127-99, in Game 1, but the Beermen bounced back with a vengeance, winning the next two games by an average margin of 31.5 points, including a 38-point victory on Wednesday.
The series has become impossible to predict but Cone thinks there’s going to be a game that’s going to end the trend of blowouts.

“I think there are close games out there. I don’t think either coach Leo (Austria) or I wanna play this kind of games. It’s great if you’re on one side of it but the other side is terrible. You feel so helpless, you go home and you can sleep. It’s really hard to lose those guys like that,” he said.
“But like I said, I have no idea what’s gonna happen in Game 5 after this.”
