Balkman heads to locker room with ankle injury in 1st half of Game 6

Anxious moments for San Miguel Beer after import Renaldo Balkman hurt this ankle in the waning seconds of the first half in Game 6 of the PBA Commissioner’s Cup Finals Wednesday night at Mall of Asia Arena.

Balkman tweaked his left ankle after stepping on the foot of Barangay Ginebra import Justin Brownlee.

The 34-year-old Balkman immediately limped his way to the locker room with still 13.4 seconds left in the second quarter.

The Beermen lead the Gin Kings, 38-35, at the half.

San Miguel Beer would need Balkman healthy if it wants to force a Game 7 on Friday night.

Balkman is currently leading all scorers with 18 points on top of nine rebounds and three steals.
