Banal, Go for Gold trounce Che’Lu in Game 2 to even PBA D-League Finals

Gab Banal had the hot hand and Go for Gold torched Che’Lu Bar and Grill, 105-81, in Game 2 to tie the 2018 PBA D-League Foundation Cup Finals Tuesday at Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.

Banal made seven out of eight 3-pointers to finish with a game-high 33 points that went with six rebounds and four assists.

The Scratchers broke loose in the third quarter where they outscored the Revellers, 28-10, to grab a 73-58 lead heading into the final frame.

Go for Gold also drew a solid outing from Kris Porter, who wound up with 16 points and six rebounds.

Game 3 of a best-of-five is on Thursday with the Scratchers hoping to sustain their form.

Jason Melano paced Che’Lu, which rallied from 15 down to win Game 1, 100-96, with 17 points.

Explosive guard Jeff Viernes was limited to only 13 points after erupting for 34 points in the finals opener.
