University of the Philippines showed some endgame flair to repulse St. Benilde, 26-24, 27-25, 29-27, Wednesday night and kept its semifinals hope alive in the Premier Volleyball League Collegiate Conference at Filoil Flying V Center.

With the victory, the Lady Maroons climbed to 3-2 and can make the semifinals outright with victories over Far Eastern University and San Beda.

The Lady Blazers remain in contention for the last Final Four seat, but need victories over San Sebastian and Adamson coupled with a pair of losses by UP to get there.

In men’s action, La Salle scored a stunning victory over erstwhile undefeated National U, 27-25, 27-25, 17-25, 25-17, for only its second win in six matches.

UP, meanwhile, ripped St. Benilde, 25-21, 25-20, 25-23, for its fourth victory in six outings and dealt the Blazers their third loss in six games.

FEU tied St. Benilde in the standings after hacking out a 22-25, 25-20, 25-16, 25-20 victory over Arellano.
