NCAA: Miranda saves JRU in win over EAC

Agem Miranda saved Jose Rizal University from disappointment after his late-game block sealed his tewmMs 57-55 win over Emilio Aguinaldo College in the NCAA Season 94 men’s basketball tournament Friday at Filoil Flying V Centre.

The Generals’ Jerome Garcia put up a contested three from the right wing that Miranda blocked with around 22 seconds left in the game and the Heavy Bombers leading 56-55.

Miranda’s clutch defense gave JRU its second win for a 2-6 record tying EAC’s mark. 

Jed Mendoza was the high-point man for the Heavy Bombers with 18 points, four rebounds, five assists, and five steals while Mark Mallari had 12 points and four assists.

Jun Silvarez was a bucket shy from a double-double as he finished with eight points, 11 rebounds, and three blocks for JRU. 

Garcia had 19 points and 10 rebounds for the Generals whole Hamadou Laminou put up 10 points and seven boards.
