Lyceum escapes Letran to stay undefeated at 8-0

Lyceum kept its unbeaten start after slipping past Colegio de San Juan de Letran, 87-82, in the NCAA Season 94 men’s basketball tournament Friday at Filoil Flying V Centre.

The were down 78-70 midway through the fourth before ending the game on a blistering 17-4 run while holding the Knights to just one field goal in the last five minutes of the match.

Lyceum is now at 8-0, a win away from a first round sweep.

MJ Ayaay had a game-high 20 points to lead the Pirates while Mike Nzeusseu had a 16-point, 11-rebound double-double.

CJ Perez added 16 point, seven rebounds, and four steals while Jayvee Marcelino had 10 points, seven boards, and two steals.

JP Calvo led the Knights with 18 points while John Quinto missed out on a triple-double with 13 points, 10 rebounds, and nine assists.

The Pirates retained their spot atop the standings while Letran slipped to fifth with a 5-3 card.
