Semis-bound PH poomsae teams assured of bronze medals in Asian Games

The Philippines secured at least two bronze medals in the 2018 Asian Games after the country’s men’s and women’s poomsae teams seized a spot in the taekwondo team poomsae semifinals Sunday at Jakarta Convention Center in Indonesia.

The men’s team, composed of Rodolfo Reyes Jr., Dustin Jacob Mella and Jeordan Dominguez, will face Yuxiang Zhu, Mingda Hu and Tingfeng Deng of China in the semis later in the day.

The women’s team made up of Juvenile Faye Crisostomo, Rinna Babanto and Janna Dominique Oliva, meanwhile, arranged a semifinals duel with Yeowon Gwak, Dongah Choi, and Jaeeun Park of Korea.

Crisostomo and company slipped past host Indonesia in the quarterfinals while the men’s squad edged Iran to make the last four.
