ANTIPOLO—It’s only been one game but TNT is ready to move on from beleaguered import Mike Glover.
TNT team manager Virgil Villavicencio said the team decided to send Glover back home after their 103-90 opening day loss to NLEX on Friday at Ynares Center here.
“He was playing below expectations, you guys saw what happened. He’s an import and he was a minus 26 and he’s been with the team for two weeks,” said Villavicencio in Filipino after their 92-90 win over Meralco on Sunday.
“What he did was below our expectations.”
Glover had 11 points, on 4-of-12 shooting, and 15 rebounds against the Road Warriors who played with an injured Oluseyi Ashaolu who, for his part, had a monster of a game with 33 points and 23 boards.
TNT had no choice but to play with an all-Filipino lineup against the Bolts.
Villavicencio added that the KaTropa already has a shortlist comprised of three prospects with the deal for the new import to be finalized on late Monday morning.
