The official logo of the 30th Southeast Asian Games unveiled on Monday received negative feedback and drew flak on social media.
Alan Peter Cayetano, Department of Foreign Affairs secretary and chairman of the 2019 Southeast Asian Games Organizing Committee, revealed the logo during the 2019 SEA Games presentation to the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) in Jakarta, Indonesia.
“Our logo will be the 11 circles representing the 11 countries bound together in the shape of the Philippines to symbolize that wherever and whenever the games are played we are one and we win as one,” said Cayetano, whose Facebook account went live to record the presentation.
The logo is made up of 11 circles forming the shape of the Philippines. Many netizens poked fun at the logo.

Apart from the logo, the official mascot dubbed “Fami” for the 2019 SEA Games was introduced.
“The mascot form is called “Fami”, short for family to show that we are one family,” Cayetano said.
The biennial regional showcase will be held in the Philippines for the first time since 2005. It will run from November 29 to December 10, 2019.
