NCAA: Lyceum beats San Beda, sweeps first round

Lyceum completed a first round sweep after toppling defending champion San Beda, 73-66, in the NCAA Season 94 men’s basketball tournament Tuesday at Filoil Flying V Centre in San Juan.

CJ Perez fired a game-high 22 points and grabbed 13 rebounds while Jaycee Marcelino added 13 points, including the game-clinching three-point play with 14 seconds left for the Pirates, who hiked their record to 9-0.

Perez exploded in the second half, where he scored 18 points, including 10 in the final frame.

Donald Tankoua had 19 points and 18 rebounds for the Red Lions, who suffered their first loss after a 6-0 start.
