Zamboanga City execs cheer Hidilyn Diaz’s gold win

ZAMBOANGA CITY – City officials here were jubilant over the victory of Hidilyn Diaz, who bagged the first gold for the Philippines in the women’s weightlifting 53 kg Division at the Asian Games in Jakarta.

Diaz, a silver medalist in the 2016 Olympics, once again made Zamboanga City proud by winning the country’s first gold at the Asian Games, said Cecil Atilano, the city sports official.

Atilano said Diaz lifted 207 kilograms,  the first Filipino weightlifter to win gold in the Asian Games.
