TNT loses anew but Racela likes what he sees from new import

It looks like TNT head coach Nash Racela is sticking it out with new import Stacy Davis in the PBA Governors’ Cup.

The KaTropa didn’t get the best return from their investment in Mike Glover after the import had a disastrous debut of 11 points on 4-of-12 shooting, with 15 rebounds in TNT’s 103-90 loss to NLEX.

TNT, though, lost its next game 104-98 to Blackwater but Racela said he understands what Davis went through before arriving at the KaTropa’s camp.

“From what we saw today, yeah we’re satisfied,” said Racela. “It’s not really easy for him, but I’m sure he’ll get better as he plays more.”

Davis put up 23 points and 16 rebounds while shooting 9-of-26 from the field after arriving in the Philippines on Thursday morning.

In comparison, Glover was with TNT for more than two weeks before he played his first PBA game.

Racela added that Davis had little rest the moment he landed with the import immediately taking care of the requirements needed to play in the PBA and then running straight to TNT’s practice at 12 noon in Ateneo.

Davis then went to the PBA office for the official measurements after his first practice with the KaTropa.

“That bad shooting night was understandable, he did go thorough that kind of trip and of course you will lose your legs,” said Racela in Filipino as his team dipped to a 1-2 record.
