A loss greeted Stacy Davis in his first appearance in the PBA after TNT fell to Blackwater Friday at Mall of Asia Arena.
Davis, however, still kept a positive outlook for things to come.
“I think that we did a good job playing as a team especially with me only having one practice,” said Davis, who replaced the beleaguered Mike Glover after just one game.
“I think this is something we can build off of. I think if that was the start that we had, losing a close game like that, that‘s a positive thing to look at as you brought in a new member.”
Davis finished with 23 points and 16 rebounds but struggled mightily with his shooting, converting on a 9-of-26 clip from the field.
The 23-year-old forward out of Pepperdine, to his credit, arrived on Thursday morning forcing him to complete all the requirements for an import to play in the PBA.
Davis, who arrived in the Philippines at around 6 am, raced to TNT’s practice in Ateneo and had to squeeze in a medical exam and get his measurements at the PBA office all in one day.
“I’m just trying to get used to how the guys play here, but personally I feel good, I feel fine, a little banged up here and there, but nothing I can’t get over.”
Davis hopes to get his first win in the PBA on Sunday when TNT takes on Alaska at Araneta Coliseum.
