Miguel Tabuena of the Philippines added a 3-over-par 73 to his opening 71 Friday (Saturday in Manila) and missed the halfway cut by five strokes in his PGA Tour debut in the $5.5 million Sony Open in Honolulu.
Tabuena, 17, one of five players given sponsorship exemptions, had a 36-hole total of 144, five off the cut pegged at 1-under 139. Matt Every of the US grabbed the lead by two strokes at 10-under 130 with rounds of 66-64.
Every closed with three straight birdies, giving him a two-shot lead over Carl Pettersson (67) and David Hearn, who kept the Canadian presence on the leaderboard with his second straight 66.
