Eumir Marcial assured himself of a bronze medal after he dominated Republic of Korea’s Kim Ninjea in the quarterfinals of the men’s middleweight division in the boxing event of the 2018 Asian Games Wednesday at JIExpo in Jakarta.

Marcial, a two-time gold medalist in the Southeast Asian Games, scored a knock down that seemed to be the cherry on the top of his performance with all five judges giving the Filipino the victory in their score cards.

Four of the five judges gave Marcial identical 30-27 marks with only Romanian judge giving the Filipino a 30-25 score after the three rounds.

Marcial joins flyweight Rogen Ladon and light flyweight Carlo Paalam in the semifinals.
