‘More to come!’: Jordan Clarkson can’t wait to suit up for Philippines again

Jordan Clarkson just wrapped up his first tour of duty for the Philippines and he already can’t wait to do it again.

Clarkson carried the basketball-crazy Philippines to fifth place in the 2018 Asian Games, the country’s best finish in 16 years, in an exceptional performance in the last four games.

“This experience was one I will never forget. So blessed to play for the country and represent the flag and the people!” said Clarkson in an Instagram post after the Philippines’ 109-55 rout of Syria Friday in Jakarta, Indonesia.

He also addressed the Filipino crowd in attendance at the venue right after the game, thanking them for their support all throughout.

It had taken a lot to finally get him in a Philippine jersey, but Clarkson showed everyone why he was worth the trouble.

Averaging 26 points, five rebounds and 5.5 assists in the tournament, it was clear that the Fil-American guard went all out for the Philippines, his mother’s hometown.

“Loved playing for coach, along with my teammates/brothers building bonds that will hold strong,” also said Clarkson, who plays for the Cleveland Cavaliers.

While he may not be suiting up for the Philippines in the upcoming Fiba Asian Qualifiers with the schedule too close to the opening of NBA training camp, Clarkson looks confident this isn’t the last time he’s playing for the country.

“More to come! Can’t wait for the next time I get to put the colors on. Laban Pilipinas! Puso!”
