University of the Philippines stopped Adamson University, 25-19, 29-27, 20-25, 25-20, in the deciding Game 3 of the Premier Volleyball League Collegiate Conference semifinals Sunday at Filoil Flying V Centre.

The Lady Maroons will face either University of Santo Tomas or Far Eastern University in the finals.

Isa Molde exploded for the Lady Maroons with 27 points while Marian Buitre added 19 points.

UP head coach Godfrey Okumu said it was his team’s mental strength that pushed them over the hump after they lost in Game 2 against Adamson.

“Today we weren’t under pressure and everything worked,” said Okumu. “It wasn’t about skills, it wasn’t about how fast our team works, it wasn’t about skills, it was just about mental strength.”

“We played well and we were resilient, are more composed as opposed to yesterday.”

Ei Soyud led the Lady Flacons with 15 points while Lea Perez and Chiara Petmentilla had 14 and 12 points, respectively.
