Complete attendance as Lassiter, Thompson attend first PH team practice

All 16 players named by national team coach Yeng Guiao to be part of the pool showed up for the Philippine team’s first practice ahead of the fourth window of the Fiba World Cup Asian qualifiers this month.

Scottie Thompson and Greg Slaughter of Barangay Ginebra, Marcio Lassiter and Alex Cabagnot of San Miguel Beer and Ian Sangalang of Magnolia were present along with Asian Games team members Christian Standhardinger, Stanley Pringle, Paul Lee, Asi Taulava, Beau Belga, Raymond Almazan, Gabe Norwood and JP Erram.

Rounding out Monday night’s session are Allein Maliksi, Matthew Wright and Japeth Aguilar.

Thompson and Slaughter attended despite playing for the Gin Kings on Sunday night in the PBA Governors’ Cup.

The Philippines begins its campaign in the next window on the road against Iran on Sept. 13 in Tehran before hosting Qatar on Sept. 17 in a closed-door tiff at Smart Araneta Coliseum.
