NCAA: Late rally lifts Lyceum past JRU to stay unbeaten

Lyceum came away with an 82-74 win over determined Jose Rizal University to stay unscathed in the NCAA Season 94 men’s basketball tournament Friday at Filoil Flying V Centre

The Pirates went to their star in crunch time as CJ Perez delivered seven of his 30 points in the decisive fourth quarter run that paved way for their 11th win so far.

Lyceum doomed the Bombers’ plans for an upset, recovering from 68-83 deficit with seven to play with a 25-6 blast in the payoff period.

Perez, who in pace for a second straight MVP award, also added 16 rebounds to his loot.

“JRU played well, but we found a way to get back,” said LPU coach Topex Robinson.

Despite its valiant effort, the Heavy Bombers skidded to 2-9, just ahead of last place San Sebastian.
