UP nears PVL title after rallying past FEU in 5 sets

University of the Philippines moved closer to winning the title after rallying past Far Eastern University, 14-25, 22-25, 26-24, 25-18, 15-5, in Game 1 of the Premier Volleyball League Finals Sunday night at Filoil Flying V Centre in San Juan.

Rosie Rosier shone with 15 points while veteran star Isa Molde capped the Lady Maroons’ comeback with a through the block kill to cap off a 16-point outing.

UP goes for the crown in Game 2 set on Wednesday night.

Heather Guino-o topped all scorers with 17 points while Celine Domingo added 16 but the Lady Tamaraws just shot themselves in the foot with 35 errors.

Earlier, University of Santo Tomas outlasted Adamson in five sets, 25-20, 27-29, 13-25, 25-19, 17-15, to close in on the bronze medal.

Filipino-Italian Milena Alessandrini showed the way for the Golden Tigresses with 31 points while super rookie Eya Laure added 21.
