Mangulabnan rules anew

Reigning Superbikes champion Marvin Mangulabnan overwhelmed the opposition on his sleek BMW S1000RR machine to rule both Pre-Final and Final races in the fifth leg of the 2018 Petron National Motorcycle Championships at Batangas Racing Circuit in Rosario town recently.

Unleashing the power of his Bavarian track brute off every chicane, the lead rider of the BMW Motorrad Racing timed 15 minutes and 51.908 seconds over nine laps around the 3.8-kilometer circuit, a substantial 1:04.743 minutes clear of runner-up Jericho Arnaiz of Rgutz Wheeltek Racing in a ZX10R.

Newcomer Pocholo Panlilio surprised the field by coming in third in the combined race, just 1:19.147 off Mangulabnan, to handily secure the National Rookie class title over female rider Jacq Buncio in the six-leg series sponsored by Petron Sprint 4T, FDR tires and Pirelli.

Arnaiz settled for the Intermediate title .

But it was Yamaha rider John Emerson Inguito who emerged the day’s biggest winner by topping Race 5 of both the Underbone King and Open Scooter races.
