Deadline for 2018 PBA Rookie Draft applications set

Fil-foreign players aspiring to fulfill their dreams of making the PBA are given until October to complete their applications to be eligible for this year’s Rookie Draft.

In a press release, the PBA said the deadline for foreign players to submit the necessary requirements is on October 26.

The league also announced that the 2018 Rookie Draft is scheduled for December 16, two days after it releases the final list of applicants.

The submission of requirements is just the first step for Fil-foreign players, whose application will still be reviewed by the league.

A December 3 deadline, meanwhile, is set for local applicants. The PBA will also issue the final list of eligible Fil-foreign hopefuls on the same date.

Last year, Filipino-German forward Christian Standhardinger was selected as the No. 1 overall pick.

The Draft Combine, where the aspirants get to show coaches and media a glimpse of what they have to offer, is scheduled for December 12 and 13.

This year’s draft will be Willie Marcial’s first since being appointed as league commissioner.
