Isa Molde never expected to win MVP of the conference despite leading University of the Philippines to the PVL Collegiate Conference Finals.

But after spearheading the Lady Maroons to a historic volleyball championship, the school’s first in 36 years, there wasn’t any doubt who the Finals MVP was.

“We just picked each other up and fought,” she added.

Molde, who took much of the offensive load with Tots Carlos out the whole conference with a shin injury, led all scorers with 22 points, including a hit that put the Lady Maroons at match point after trailing, 7-13.

She tallied 16 in Game 1 where UP also won in five sets after rallying from two sets down.

“She’s been my MVP since we started playing,” UP head coach Godfrey Okumu said of Molde.
