FEU, Ateneo stay unscathed in UAAP women’s basketball

Far Eastern University and Ateneo both climbed the top of the ladder early in the UAAP Season 81 women’s basketball tournament after contrasting wins Wednesday at Smart Araneta Coliseum.

The Lady Tamaraws brushed off University of the Philippines, 69-55, to get to a 2-0 card behind the combined efforts of Valerie Mamaril and Fatima Quiapo who scored 18 points together for FEU.

The Lady Eagles, meanwhile, had a harder trek as they beat University of the East by their two points, 68-66, for their 2-0 record.

Alyssa Villamor and Joanne Nimes each had 18 points for the Lady Eagles while Jolina Go added 15 points of her own.
