San Beda, CKSC, La Salle schools grab early WNCAA lead
San Beda College Alabang joined seven-time defending seniors champion Centro Escolar University on top while its juniors squad is tied for the lead with two-time titlist Chiang Kai Shek College after week two of the 49th WNCAA basketball tournament.
SBCA whipped Assumption College, 73-39, while CEU dealt hapless St. Scholastica’s College a 110-4 beating for 2-0 cards at SBCA gym recently. In Junior A, SBCA and CKSC also share 2-0 records after victories over Poveda (38-33) and host St. Paul College Pasig (105-40), respectively.
Sister schools De La Salle Zobel and La Salle College Antipolo are likewise unbeaten in two starts in Junior B. Midgets play kicked off with defending champion Miriam scoring a 59-44 triumph over DLSZ and St. Paul downing SBCA, 51-41.
