Asia League: Guangzhou grounds Chiba in Terrific 12 group stage

MACAU—Guangzhou opened up its account with a 72-60 victory over Chiba in the first match of Group C of the Asia League The Terrific 12 Tuesday at Studio City Events Center here in Macau.

Kyle Fogg lit up for the Long Lions, who won the Super 8 earlier this year title, with 31 points for the CBA power.

The Long Lions employed a blitz of an offense to break through the Jets’ offense, scoring on 19 points off Chiba’s 12 turnovers.

Former Golden State Warrior Maurreese Speights had 20 points and 11 rebounds for the Long Lions.

Michael Parker had 18 points and 12 rebounds to lead Chiba, which plays in Japan’s B.League, while Trey McKinney-Jones had 15.
