Gan rules World Am qualifying tournament
Former amateur national team player Oliver Gan fired a gross score of 77 in the second and final day to capture the overall title in the 2018 World Amateur Golfers Championship Philippines national qualifier held Friday at Summit Point in Batangas.
The 35-year-old Gan matched his score of 77 on opening round on Thursday for a gross total of 154. A six-handicapper, his total net score is 142 in Division 1 of the tournament.
“Of course, I am very happy to finally capture the championship,” said Gan, appointed early this year as NCR program officer of the Philippine Sports Institute by PSC Chair Butch Ramirez.
