Bong Ravena has always been a diligent lieutenant in the TNT bench, and after 10 years of loyalty he’s about to be rewarded with the top seat.
As per several reports, Ravena will replace beleaguered Nash Racela as the KaTropa’s new head coach in the PBA.
PBA Press Corps president Gerry Ramos of Spin.ph and Tiebreaker Times’ Matthew Li first reported of Ravena’s promotion to the head coach’s spot.
Ravena has served as an assistant coach for the KaTropa under Chot Reyes, Norman Black, Jong Uichico, and Racela.
TNT holds a disappointing 2-4 record in the PBA Governors’ Cup with one of those wins coming under Racela and the other one courtesy of assistant coach Eric Gonzales.
Racela went on leave after TNT slumped to a three-game losing streak and Gonzales was appointed as the team’s interim head coach before its 118-114 win over Columbian.
