Racela sends his best to new TNT coach Ravena

Nash Racela offered his congratulations to his Bong Ravena, who is taking over his spot as head coach of TNT, on Friday.

Racela used his social media accounts to wish Ravena the best for the remainder of the 2018 PBA Governors’ Cup where the KaTropa sit at the eighth seed with a 2-4 record.

“Good things come to those who wait,” said Racela pertaining to Ravena’s long tenure with TNT.

Ravena started his assistant coach job with the KaTropa in 2008 and served under Chot Reyes, Norman Black, Jong Uichico, and Racela.

TNT started off fairly at 1-1 but got into a three-game slide that culminated in a 112-82 blowout loss to Phoenix.

Assistant coach Eric Gonzales was then given the reins temporarily in TNT’s 118-114 win over Columbian.

Ever the jokester, Racela also joked that Ravena’s son Kiefer should join TNT.

Kiefer is under contract with TNT sister team NLEX but is serving his Fiba suspension for a doping violation.

“Kiefer lipat na (transfer already)!” joked Racela.
